As the Owner and Financial Advisor at APEX Financial Services, my path to this role began in an unexpected way. I met the original company founder, Michael Fetsch, in 2010 while doing landscaping at his lake house during a summer job while in college. We stayed in touch, and he offered me a position with the team when I graduated. Coming from a background without much financial literacy, I wanted to learn more about investments and the stock market, which led me down the path of financial services. Over my 13 years in the industry, I've obtained my FINRA Series 7, 66, and 24 securities registrations, and became a CFA Charterholder in 2017. Prior to my career, I earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Economics and a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Indiana University at Bloomington.

My primary responsibilities include day-to-day firm management, meeting with clients to understand their needs and goals, and providing investment advice and financial planning. I specialize in financial analysis, particularly portfolio and risk analysis, which is why I enrolled in the CFA program. I have always enjoyed the analytical side of the business, and having attained the Charter, I feel confident in my expertise in these areas. What I love most about my job is that no day is the same – there's always something new to learn, which keeps me engaged and growing professionally.

I am constantly motivated by the overall success of my clients, the ever-changing nature of the industry, and the ability to learn continuously. This business allows me to make a real impact on people's lives, which drives my passion for what I do. I believe that the greatest value I can provide for our clients is clarity – trying to explain financial concepts in simple terms that are easier to understand. I also strive to offer objective guidance, providing an unbiased perspective to help clients meet their goals without letting personal interests interfere with their best outcomes.

I was born in Michoacan, Mexico, and grew up in a very small, rural farming community of about 200 people. It was a humble upbringing – our town didn't have drinking water until I was about 5 years old, and my family didn't have a color television until I was about 8. I came to the United States when I was 12 years old, settling in Northwest Indiana. I was the first person in my family to graduate from high school and the first to go to college, as I always saw education as a way to achieve a better life. Today, I live in Zionsville, Indiana, with my wife Zhanna, who was born in Russia and also came to the United States when she was 12. In my free time, I enjoy exercising and traveling to new places with my wife, supporting my Indiana Hoosiers at football and basketball games during the fall, and recharging by binge-watching our favorite shows together.
